You have your tree home, now what?

If this is your first time purchasing a tree with us, don't worry. Here are the basic instructions on how to care for your Christmas tree to keep it healthy and safe this holiday season.

Once you get home

  • Cut 1/2 to 3/4 inch off the bottom of the trunk. This is necessary to make sure the tree continues to drink water all season long.

  • Place tree in stand and straighten as needed.

  • Decorate and enjoy your beautiful tree, maybe while sipping hot chocolate and listening to Christmas carols!

Tips for a Healthy Tree

  • Keep your tree away from a direct heat source

  • Depending on tree stand type, make sure the nut at the bottom of the water container is tight so it does not leak water.

  • Make sure your tree has water. If the water dries up, the trunk will harden with sap and will not take water.

  • If the water does end up drying, you can add in some hot water (not boiling) to try to loosen up the hardened sap.
